TestCohort
For Android developers

Google Play closed testing with real Android testers

Preparing to release your Android app? TestCohort helps you organize a closed test, coordinate willing testers, follow their reported activity and gather useful feedback.

Get started as a developer How it works

Organize a testing campaign

Create a campaign for your app and make the testing instructions and opt-in steps available to participants.

Coordinate real participation

Follow enrolled testers, their self-reported participation and activity, and the progress of your campaign.

Collect actionable feedback

Ask participants to actually use the app and share honest feedback, observations and issues.

Keep Google Play in control

Testers still need to join through Google Play itself. Internal TestCohort records are not independent evidence of Google Play enrollment.

How to coordinate a Google Play closed test

  1. Check your Play Console requirement. Confirm which closed-testing rules apply to your developer account.
  2. Create a developer account in TestCohort. Add your app and create a campaign with clear test instructions.
  3. Invite and coordinate participants. Give eligible testers the correct Google Play testing link and joining instructions.
  4. Track participation and feedback. Review the activity your participants report and encourage genuine use of the app.
  5. Review status in Play Console. Only Google can determine whether you meet its production-access criteria.

TestCohort helps with organization and feedback. It does not automatically enroll anyone in a Google Play test.

Common questions

Does every developer need 12 testers for 14 days?

No. Google's requirement applies to specific personal developer accounts. Review your Play Console and Google's current guidance before planning a test.

Does TestCohort guarantee 12 testers or production approval?

No. Availability and real participation can vary. TestCohort tracks participants' own declarations; it does not guarantee a tester count, verified Play opt-in or approval.

Do testers join Google Play automatically?

No. Testers must use the appropriate Google Play testing link and follow Google's opt-in process themselves.

Can I pay for a campaign now?

Commercial plans are being prepared. Automatic payment collection is not enabled at this time; check the platform for its current availability.
